Having made the long (?) 30 second journey to the Fox and Hounds pub you will immediately be met by a warm welcome from everyone you come into contact with in the pub. 

The genial landlord in the guise of Andrew Blackburn stands tall and proud over the very many fine ales and spirits he dispenses from his famous cellar.

A fanatic of fine beer Andrew has for many years overseen the listing of The Fox and Hounds in the Campaign for Real Ales (CAMRA) guide to pubs with truly fine beer, meanwhile his good lady Nola carefully home cooks the extensive menu to ensure that a great meal is had by all during their visit to the Fox and Hounds. 

Dominos and darts are all played with great skill and the Fox and Hounds is known throughout the Dales for their skill at dominos. 

Quiz nights usually every second Friday tests the brain to the limit and hint !.....    There are usually a few cricket questions !! 

And music on the piano every other Saturday night makes the Fox and Hounds a great place to visit and experience the hospitality of the Dales. 

After you have done that it is back up the street for a walk of about 35 seconds and home to the comfort of your bed in Loaning Cottage. 

It’s a tough life but somebody has to do it.
